what is the most automated way to make contact sheets?
i find myself doing a lot of 100x100cm 300dpi selections of stuff that i need printed...manually making them in photoshop also and i'm not much of a 2d expert to figure out a faster way to do it...
i tried photoshop's automate>contact sheet option but it is not doing it for me as the 96cm is the biggest possible format...
is there a software for this? that can just take bunch of images and place them economically into the format of that size and high dpi quality or i'm bound to do it manually always?
thanks a lot

Make an Automator service for it. Quick and dirty but it lets you just grab a bunch of images and instantly create a pdf contact sheet:

The contact sheet script in InDesign is waaaaay better than the old-skool Photoshop Contact Sheet II script (note: the ID one does require some hacking if you need PNG support). For one thing it creates an editable master with native text captions rather than a rasterized image that isn't accessible.
Cons: gotta be a CC subscriber.
Otherwise Automator is a decent choice.
