FUCK APPLE ALSO.
Updated to Catalina and now CS6 and Office no longer work.- Eh, sure, but Apple's move away from 32-bit was no secret going back years. It's not like they didn't put up warnings in High Sierra and Mojave either.evilpeacock
- CS6 is what, 12 years old? You’re asking a modern OS to work perfectly with ancient, outdated 3rd party software built on a dead architecture?monospaced
- Fuck Microsoft too then, because they also stopped supporting that old shit.monospaced
- You need some tomato sauce on those catalina pastaBennn
- Catalina is an island off the coast of California Bennn. Not remotely Italy. What did you think it was?monospaced

Late 2015 iMac. Photoshop takes about 3 seconds. No issues here. Might want to check into other factors.
- If you have a lot of brushes or other presets it'll significantly slog on the launch. I had 4GB of high-res brushes that was the culprit.evilpeacock
- Mine is a 2018 iMac. It took 1 minute 4 seconds. :-( What factors should I look into?boobs
- My only setup is a 2013 Asus with an SSD as the only mod that still holds strong.
Running PS, AI and Chrome with 20+ tabs with no problem.deadsperm - It's reasonably slow when saving a file, otherwise it works fine. I guess it's a matter of "luck", one small detail can probably fuck up your system.deadsperm

- SSDs don't need defrag, also if you're on Mac no defrag
but damn I hate doing that with Windowzgrafician - Macs don’t need defrag. It’s all handled natively in the background.monospaced
- Natively in the background as long as you leave a nice fat chunk of free hard drive space available. Win 10 does background defrag weekly too.evilpeacock
- Defrag is no longer a thing. Seriously.Projectile
- I assumed this was a joke.CyBrainX

Everything here opening up in a few seconds. Definitely something unique to your machine going on.

SSD yes, but even with that lots of custom presets are probably doing this. Do you see "Halide Bottlenecks" on the splash for a long time? Try unloading high-res brushes or other presets and watch it launch 10x faster.
They changed something a couple years ago with preset loading and well... it sucks.
