So I stopped taking the drops for a while and mostly forgot about it. This weekend in a store I discovered disposable CBD vape pens. THAT is the way to do it. The effects are far more noticeable. I’ve never vaped anything before until this. Luckily, I think these higher quality products are devoid of the garbage that set off the nicotine-based vape issues with acetone and other chemicals in the cheaper, unregulated products.

These were $35 a piece and have about 150 puffs @ 6 seconds each, according to the package. I tried two - the Focus and Relax; both are definitely different. Focus in the morning and Relax in the evening to wind down. I was exhausted when I got home tonight but need to work out later. Used the Focus and I’ve been both calm and energized / motivated. I can really notice it around my kids - I just feel less agitated, more playful, more carefree.

If you’re not opposed to vaping give these a try.

    • Now I'm trying natural products. these days iam on L-Theanine and St-John's Worth, i also take a piece of 90% dark chocolate every day, super food for healthBennn
    • I pop an Omega-3 three times a week, but i will stop after i empty the bottle, i've read its useless. I also pop a Complex B100 pill 2 times a week.Bennn
    • From what I understand, the only thing different about the two is the flavor, not the effects.letterhead

Man! That paste tastes like soft-black hash!
    :)

    • ..is it soft black hash?Nairn
    • It's whole plant extract. So a whole plant mushed into a concentrated paste I think ;)
Lot more of a paste than soft black. Soft black is the sticky resin.

Are there actual studies on it?

I've been taking it for 4 days. 8mg per 1mL. The first two days, I just felt really spacey and tired in general. I cut down to half the dropper so it should be 4mg since, but I don't feel very different. I've been taking it before i go to sleep.

    • I've read its better to take it in the morningBennn
    • btw its still 8mg/ml even if you cut the quantity in half, you just take less of it. But its still 8mg/ml. How much ml are you taking is the questineBennn
    • The dropper doesn't have a measurement. I assumed it's 1mL.vwsung18t

Diagnosed general anxiety here (GAD). Trouble sleeping, trouble relaxing.

I tried smoking it, and the oil.

Not sure it has much of an effect. If there is one, it's very light. I have done the research on correct consumption / dosing.

But maybe i need to use it more long-term, which i haven't, yet. Still have a fistful of CBD pot, and a (pretty expensive) bottle of oil left.

Results are inconclusive, further testing is needed ;)

I've been taking it since a few days now. I honestly see no effects. From what I read, it can take a few days/weeks for certain person to notice something.

    • Or maybe I should take higher dose.Bennn
    • That's one thing I noticed. I started with the 600mg variety which didn't seem to do much. A full dose (100mg) of the 1000mg variety though worked great.MondoMorphic

The work training we did, it was an online course but I took substantial notes because all of this was really hitting home to me.

    Types of Stress
    - Acute Stress - least harmful, short term, stress leading up to a one-time event or task, may feel irritable or anxious, stomach aches, sweaty palms, chest pains, shortness of breath, rush of adrenaline like about to ride a roller coaster. once the stressful situation is over, symptoms go away.

    - Episodic Stress - perpetual stress, more regular, even daily. people who suffer may be disorganized, in a rush, or worried about something, even if it’s unimportant. this stress over years will have an impact on health.

    - Chronic Stress - worst kind. long term stress. not properly managing episodic stress, constantly overwhelmed or anxious, have a hard time relaxing. can affect all parts of your life, up to a mental or physical breakdown.

    Effects of Stress.
    - becoming easily agitated, moody, overwhelmed, having difficulty relaxing and quieting mind, low self esteem, or feeling depressed, and, avoiding others.

Physical - low energy, headaches, upset stomach, aches, pains, tense muscles, chest pain, rapid heart beat, etc. nervousness
cognitive - constantly worrying, racing thoughts, forgetfulness, disorganization, inability to focus, poor judgement, pessimism.
behavioral - procrastination, increased use of alcohol, nervous behavior

    • I definitely have a consistent spread of acute and episodic.mg33
    • I'd even say that some of it veers into chronic because I don't control acute or episodic well. I have trouble relaxing. I feel like there's always somethingmg33
    • I could be or need to be doing.mg33

My general issues in life aren't any different from most people who are busy with career, parenthood, commuting, trying to make time for yourself amongst the house cleaning, chores, getting ready for the next day, and trying to enjoy life.

We do quarterly training for different things at work and this time around we took a class about managing stress. A lot of the stuff in there was a massive wake up call to me even as I previously casually joked about anxiety and stress. Since doing that this past weekend I decided to start getting up at 5:45am and working out before work), because my office moved and I don't have a daytime gym anymore, and I can't fit that into every evening. So, feel good about doing that.

My two biggest issues in life are that I'm a bit controlling, and I don't like change. As far as being controlling, it's less about ME controlling all situations, and more about perhaps too great of expectations of others around me. Like, getting my 4 1/2 year old daughter to perfectly do her morning routine so we can leave on time. I have a problem with being patient and expecting things to be perfect or completed easily. All of that boils up to increased anxiety and tension that i wish I could shake.

The worst of it is that all this stuff and stress makes my skin break out a bit, which at 41 absolutely sucks (but makes people think I"m much younger, so there's an upside to acne. LOL) and I've had to figure out what impacts that beyond cutting out coffee/caffeine, whey protein, and dairy. Coffee/caffeine is only a recent discovery to cut out, because they're an awful contributor to stress and cortisol.

I realized recently that I'd stopped taking an adrenal supplement several months ago, and remembered that the entirety of taking that supplement I had clear skin. Got back on a new supplement, and started taking some other anti-stress stuff like a Reishi and other mushroom supplement, and some pills from Transparent Labs before bed that have magnesium, zinc, and oyster meat and help get better sleep and lower anxiety.

I also started taking 3mg melatonin this week at 10pm to help me be ready for bed around 10:30. I typically stay up till midnight, but I've felt good going to bed earlier, espeically to get up around 5:45 and exercise.

Anyhow... after my stepmom told me about my dad using CBD oil, and my barber telling me it would help sleep tremendously. Started reading more and I'm highly interested in getting some to see how it might affect my overall mood, peace of mind, attitude around my kids, etc.

    • Big thing is parenthood. my daughter is incredibly smart and was capable of a lot more than average kids even at 2 years old.mg33
    • and her doing things like changing clothes, changing diaper, brushing teeth, being nice, she was doing all of this at 3.mg33
    • Now at 4 1/2 with even more free will building in her, she often refuses, throws a fit, needs help, etc. and it all adds up to more time in the morning, night,mg33
    • and my tension in those moments goes through the roof because I'm like "you were doing this at 3 WHY NOT NOW!??" LOLmg33
    • as i'm not a parent, i hold this standard to those around me. I see myself as an idiot always capable of learning more but...imbecile
    • so many people are content being misinformed, that the trajectory of civilization has me on edge. "I'm an idiot and i sort this out, wtf is your problem?"imbecile
    • that's how i feel most days. :/ thank you again for sharingimbecile
    • You're welcome. At home with my wife I often think "I'm 10x lazier than you and somehow I can rinse my dishes and not leave them all over the counter..."mg33
    • I have similar thoughts regarding most people in public, so much so that if i see someone respectable or acting selflessly kind, i tell them i appreciate it.imbecile

I will consider the CBD oil guys. I will consider anything at this point. And no SeaSea I do not believe in the drugs. Although the mild dose of Celexa did help for a bit I feel it just masked my symptoms. Of course, they came back. I really do feel I have to battle this psychologically. This fear begins in my brain and just manifests itself physically. I've never been in an accident in my life, I have no reason to fear the road or a cliff. I have also noticed that I have a fear of heights now too. I think it's associated. I mean I used to do the craziest shit when I was younger and never experienced fear!

Next week on the 17th I will have 1 year 100% sober. No weed and no booze. Of course, I'm stoked on this and it's done a lot of good but tbh It hasn't done shit for my driving panic. :-( I still smoke cigs like a champ and over caffeinate (mainly on weekends). I sleep well so that's not an issue. But I am overweight so I feel that maybe my circulatory system is not working as well as it should be so this only worsens my anxiety. exercise, quitting smoking, no caffeine, lose weight could be the answer alone. Ugh...

I've read some stuff online too about this specific fear of driving and many researchers say you have to, like JayLarson said, create some kind of mantra, just talk to yourself and continue to push the limits of what you think you can do until finally, you have desensitized your brain to the fear. This is a lot easier said than done.

So @fadein11 and @letterhead glad to hear I'm not alone with this here on QBN! If you guys want to reach out hit me up on Gmail at my name javierarmstrong or find me on FB and we can chat. Maybe we can exchange ideas on how to cope with this.

And @sea_sea I'll dm you I can't believe you also had this. Maybe you can help find the right oil to take. Oooh! maybe I can smoke it! lol
I hope I don't have to walk into a pot shop for it. The temptation will be strong since weed is my #1 weakness.

    • I don't have the same fear of driving, but I've gotten a bit of vertigo as I've gotten older and can relate to how that feels.mg33
    • In Maui back in 2014 we drove up Mt. Haleakalā to see the sun rise; drove up in the dark, switchbacks, all darkness.mg33

My wife uses it for anxiety as well. Sleep's been stressful while on mat leave, she says it helps a ton and in the 10 months she's been using it, she hasn't complained of any side effects.

I tried it out for 40 year old skateboarder joint pain but didn't notice any real improvement, that said I have some friends who swear by it.

    Good luck!

    • What type of anxiety does she have and how has it helped?HijoDMaite
    • It's not diagnosed, but is consistent with what new moms go through, then the anxiety of going back to work/leaving child in day care...ben_
    • About 2 months after our daughter was born, she started having trouble sleeping (not the normal kind, our daughter has been a great sleeper)...ben_
    • so she says it helps her relax and probably more specifically not wake up in panic, similar to melatonin before bed.ben_

So has anyone used CBD oil lately? What are the biggest benefits you noticed?

Is it good for deep sleep?

    • Probably not.

Try melatonin an hour or two before bed.

So I have the paste and the guy also gave bottle of 5% CBD MCT Oil

He suggested emptying out half of the oil (and keeping it). Then putting half of the paste into the bottle and mixing it. That's what he uses. He's the brand owner so knows his stuff.

The paste gives a much more full spectrum punch and mixing it with the oil gives more of a punch but also is a much more effective delivery method.

Looking forward to trying these mixed. Will keep the thread updated.
