I can't believe nobody has mentioned the utterly authentic voices of the North East, Duble G & Wayne Lewis:
- never heard geordie hip hop before. An accent fit for purpose. Proper northern lyrics too hahaIanbolton
- I think my favourite thing about this is the fact that Wayne Lewis has gone so real with his name. No 'Dr This' or 'Grandmaster That'. Wayne. Lewis.Wolfboy
- Haha. Yeah. Keeping it real on the streets of Gateshead!Ianbolton
- hahah I love it!robthelad
- this video shows how I see all hip hopdrgs
- ^ crude and misogynistic?Ianbolton
- Jesus that was pure shite. Much better UK hip hop around. Rodney P, Roots Manuva...mort_
- Little simz, for sure... worlds apartmort_
- is this a parody?Krassy
- I hope it's a parody, fucking awful lol.fadein11

- Crikey, I'd forgotten about 'im - used to listen to this a lot!
is this hip-hop?Nairn - Thou shalt probably in the top 5 of all time UK hip hop.Hayzilla
- I'm not sure I really know what hip-hop is.Nairn
- I've seen the Pip and the Sac at live Hip hop events. I'm unsure it's strictly Hip Hop but i'd say it's on the fringes.Morning_star
- It's got a specific style which is kinda lax hip hop. Are the Streets in any way hip hop too? Find it amazing Pip's got a proper stutter and rhyming helps.Ianbolton
- His podcast is worth a listen. Seems like a cool guy. Didn't realise until last week he was in Taboo with Tom Hardy. Who new?Morning_star
- went through a spell of loving him. Thou Shalt Always Kill is a classic.fadein11
- Well. He raps (ish... more like a spoken word poetry slam thing). Over a beat (none of these are hip hop in a classical sense). Hip hop? Hmm...jagara
- Thou Shalt... is a memorable track, though :)jagara
- Crikey, I'd forgotten about 'im - used to listen to this a lot!

Don't mind a bit of Little Simz.
- Like this chick, but it could be put into more of a song. This feels like the backing track was an afterthought.Projectile

off topic as not really hip hop but too good not to share
- uh oh, I can already feel the rage boiling in our Irish cousins that this was posted in the UK Hip Hop threadNairn
- earworm materialBluejam
- Blindboy will go spare. As a way of making it up to him, listen to his podcast. It'gas. Yurt.Morning_star
- Nothern Ireland is UK.
I have no idea where in Ireland they're fromProjectile - Not Northern Ireland ;)Nairn
- Indeed. Blindboys grandfather was active in the IRA. Suffice to say, he's not a fan of British colonialism.Morning_star
- I went down a bit of an Irish Twitter rabbit hole the other week and was a bit taken aback by the blatant furious hatred for 'Brits' that still exists.Nairn
- I guess I naively assumed it'd've settled into a Scots-like bemused dislike for the English, but no. Some cunts over there absolutely hate us, hahaha.Nairn
- It's odd for me, as a Scotto-Northerner - I've always had a dislike of Westminster and monied Southerners, so guess I've never seen myself as one of 'dem Brits'Nairn

Very different feel, but this is my fav UK chap
And this album in just an incredible listen. The whole album is a conversation btw an anarchist on trial, and his reporter friend. Really moving stuff.
https://dizraeli.bandcamp.com/al…The year is 2013
Time we got this right
We've tried all other avenues
And now
This is the one solution left
So listenComrades here
And those at home
Welcome to Mud Island
Where clouds don't clear
And no one comes for asylum
Where you can't grow food without a horticulture license
And licenses are only granted to corporate giants
Not the Jolly Green
They're monsters of oil and iron
Who shape government policy
And own soil and sky
And they also own the rights
To the writer's pens
So no news can find a vent
Without prior consent
And that consent doesn't come
When the news is anti-government
Or pro-Islam
Or anti-capitalism
Or about the fear that always hangs in the distance
Or the fact that every other cousin's languishing in prison
Or the lack of a living wage
That wages war on actually living
The buses are silent
We all face forward
Like the drones in 1984
Afraid to talk in case we're breaking laws
We didn't even know existed
The terror agents on the corners
Who can leave you broken wristed
With interrogation methods
Never less than vicious
And detention without charge
Is the quintessence of Englishness
The quintessence of Englishness- Phone call just gave me goose bumpsProjectile
- nice i like concept piecesdeathboy
- wish it had a little more complexity in the music though. more like this https://www.youtube.…deathboy
- or the full album that is part of.. a lil more music to it all but i guess that may not fit the styledeathboy
- ^ yeah that would be nice actually. A bit like Dub PistolsProjectile
