In order to keep the micro managers and non-believers in check, does anyone know of a free / affordable work tracking app that takes screenshots?
Upwork used to have one...
Find another gig, there is no way that screenshots to the boss is a good work environment. Do good work and do it on time.
It's actually a way to protect us... you'll see.
So if you get a great idea and hammer out a project, you need to sit in the chair and look like your working on it for the rest of the day?
I agree. If you have to prove your worth with screenshots, maybe you should look into a new gig. That would suck.
I worked for a company that used O-Desk a number of years ago, they had this feature.
Set up a webcam...let them check in on you.
i don't get the screenshot thing -- random ss while you're working? Do companies actually do this?
1. Upwork does have 6 random screenshots an hour. It did rather, for some reason the desktop app didn't include it just last week.
I really appreciated tbh. I turned off email and everything that didn't pertain to the work and jammed out a few hours at a time. It was rather nice to see the ideas come to life through a history.
I also know the client can't say anything about me not doing the work.
2. Yes, I have a horrible client right now... and I'm actively looking for someone to replace his revenue.
Finally, I've recently seen lobbyist pushing for more transparency in professional services based on millions of dollars of fraud. The cost is being pitched that it will be pushed back on us... I'm not sure if it will come to fruition, but I'm curious nonetheless.
Thanks for caring everyone... nobody needs the headache I've been through over the past 3 months. I can't even begin to tell you just how ignorant the client has become. If I did have a tracking app in place he'd have nothing to "feel" about. Fucker.
don't bill hourly.
