Can anyone think of any popular board games, or otherwise, that somehow deal with percentages?
I have to create an experience in VR where the player is asked a question about percentages and they have to choose from one of 4 options.
Doesn't necessarily have to be a board game, but some game of some kind that is related to percentages. Drawing a blank.
An example of another one I did is the player is asked about what year something happened, and they are on a large craps table. They have to put the dice with the correct number on it on one of the squares on the game board to answer the question correctly. So something along those lines.
So what age group is this aimed at?
If it has to be something simple use the number 24 as your base as it will give you a lot of good percentage options and visualizations.
as for a board game you could use snakes and ladders.
100 spots on the board. 30 are ladders 30 are snakes what is the percentage of a snakes ladders, that sort of thing.
You could make this a bit more complicated as you move up the board. If you are on spot number 50 and there are 20 snakes 10 ladders before the end what percentage of the remaining tiles are good and what percentage are bad.
Does that help?
Helps a lot, thanks. This is for adult professionals at an event. Each experience needs to be real quick and easy. A minute long or so. The point isn't to make the questions tough to answer or take them a long time, its just to be a cute little VR experience for them, and they learn a little along the way.
Its for an event so there is going to be a line of people there. Has to be real quick for them to get through this. Brain dead easy.
I like the idea of snakes and ladders but it would have to be really simplified.
animals and babies are the most shared thing on the web
This one is the hardest of the 3 experiences Im building because the question is ridiculous. The question is, "According to the IRS, what is the correct percentage of the error rate for e-file returns?"
The answer is .5 percent. So I need some sort of semi-fun way to have them answer this with very basic interactivity, being mindful of the fact that most of these people have never used VR, so it has to be real simple for them to accomplish.
I was originally going to do a giant lotto machine that they are in and the balls have like .5, 1, 2, and 3% on them, and they have to grab the right one and put it in the chute, but its too messy in VR with these balls all flying around so I need a different idea.
perhaps its not in making the awnser fun but how you do it. The numbers could be hidden beneath rocks, be heavy to move, must be put together of pieces and then placed in a area.
I could do something where they are on a giant air hockey table with multiple pucks that have percentages on them and they have to slide the correct one into the goal.
Can anyone think of a clever name that combines air hockey and taxes? Lol
.5 of a % is 1 out of 200.
Show the user 200 people , like mug shots.
Ask the user to point to all the people who made a mistake e filing taxes.
They will be thinking it will be a more then just one person, when they choice their first choice and find they are completed it will stick in their memory because they were not expecting it.
You could also track what person is chosen every time a user selects one. Find out what person the users thinks is an idiot based on looks.
As a bonus you could use the people from the event in the program, "you want a VR experience? We can put you in it just let us take your picture"
