port douglas - http://www.nautilus-restaurant.c…
- I can vouch for this place : )MrT
- Just be careful where you swim at Port Douglas. Crocs.BusterBoy
- Nice! ill try that place.
@BusterBoy Assume that they indicate where you can swim?milfhunter - Yep. Generally stay away from tributaries that run into the ocean.BusterBoy

If you don't have that long, I wouldn't spend too long in Noosa. Nice spot, but quite touristy and tons of whining rich kids on holidays from the south complaining they're not going to Hawaii.
- ha thanks for the tip. Might gonna skip that one.milfhunter

Melbourne isn't anywhere near Port Douglas or Brisbane guys.
Might be worth checking out Nimbin, twinned with Woodstock.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ni…Byron Bay was nice, but only because of the festival they had on. It's also a bit further below Brisbane.
Daintree Rainforest was getting treacherous and flooded by the time we made it up there, but there's shitloads of exploring to do.
Not sure why Turkey Beach brings back memories. Maybe I got laid by one of their 133 residents.

- Yes i know. That's why we take a domestic flight to get there. Nimbin looks great but it's further down south from Brisbanemilfhunter

Some Melbourne shiz... really all we have is sport and seriously good food, drink and coffee to make up for the lack of a good climate or pretty harbour...
If you like wine and food...
Marion in Fitzroy
Embla in the cityIf want to spend a nice night out on good food-
Cutler and Co
Tonka
... actually just look around here https://www.broadsheet.com.auEverleigh is definitely worth checking out. Have some fried chicken down stairs beforehand, or after.
Music is everywhere, just check the local mags/guides. Go explore the city at night, lots of alleyways and shit to stumble into places.
If you were here earlier I'd say go to an AFL game.
Get an Airbnb/hotel in the north - carlton, Collingwood, Fitzroy etc - more of a buzz there and easy to get into the city.
Other than that.... go to the great ocean road, spend a night out there somewhere. Lots of sights, beaches, rain forest walks etc.
Or even go down to Wilsons Prom if you have the time, it's prehistoric and wild there.
- Many thanks for the tips!milfhunter
- Forgot about Cutler & Co, great suggestion.ben_

Melbourne's a lot of fun - depending on your tastes:
https://longrain.com/melbourne - amazing Thai food.
The European is good for a glass of wine and they have nice breakfasts.
The Everleigh in Fitztroy was a nice place to grab a cocktail as well.
I did a drive up the other coast, so can't really speak to the way you're going, but I'm sure you'll get some great recos.
