Working on some new initiatives at work and trying to figure out what the most applicable name is for this sort of stuff:

Rich Media Interactivity?
Rich Digital Storytelling?
Interactive Media? What's the most common name for these types of websites that mix interactivity, micro-interactions, video, audio, photography, etc. into a storytelling type of presentation?
I'm trying to get people at our office to stop calling this "immersive," because I hear that word used much more to describe physically immersive work, VR/AR, touch walls in spaces mixed with other stuff, etc. Just want to come up with the right term.

Interactive Digital Storytelling.

It's not always going to be interactive... but if it incl all types of media then it's always 'rich' imo. Immersive is too dramatic if not actually pulling user into it via VR or AR.

This was also known as at one time, Flash.

- I miss Flash. I loved Flash.boobs
- flash was such a bizarre concept in needing a plug-in to view a website.inteliboy
- Which is why it’s fun to pursue. Early days of Flash were so inspiring. It’s nice to be excited about seeking opportunities for this type of work.mg33

Thanks guys. I’m spending the day tomorrow learning Principle so that I can add that to my skillset and help our team prototype this type of thing. We’ve got a serious gap ATM between ideas for this and the process / capabilities to do it. I cringe when we present static comps and someone has to talk through how exactly it would function. People need to see it in action.

In advertising terms (at least in Germany, anyway), this would be called a 'web special'. When I was still in agencies in Canada, they were simply called 'campaign microsites'.
Not particularly evocative, or even helpful probably, but it's all I've got for you. :\

Goldman Sachs (oddly) has a nice experience about blockchain https://www.goldmansachs.com/our…
We call it storytelling by the way
- 'visual storytelling' or 'visual narrative' is how journalists call it.uan
- I also remember these sorts of sites being called 'experiential sites' back in the day, now that I think about it some more.Continuity
