"GO DADDY" i mean, for a company that sells namespace they sure picked a stinker... tbh. i was more happy with their services at the time they had sexist ads and an elephant slaughtering CEO. Now they phone me twice for an upsale any time i log in to my account, cunts. They're right in getting rid of the stupid character, but it's still a stupid name and totally moot when it comes making a decision about wheres the cheapest place to register a domain.

They missed an opportunity to evolve the head character into a brand mascot. Could have been improved, then used in fun gif's, messaging stickers, emoji's - plenty of brand opportunities to give godaddy some character and humanity. They've not changed the lame name, so why loose the fun character?
I think a lot of brands seem to miss the opportunity to have a cartoon mascot. Humans associate to humans, even if it's a cartoon, intact definitely if it's a cartoon mascot - we learn from picture books and cartoons from a young age to associate with cartoon characters. I used to love the fido dido 7up character when I was a kid.

bit of a shame to lose another / classic shit original web icon but that guy always seemed incongruous

more in keeping with a low-rent surf shop or terrible trance label

I'm sure Parsons was the only one that liked that logo since he most likely designed it in MS Paint. Once they got rid of him , so went the icon.
