I've been using Flywheel for a few years now for all my client sites, really good service and support.

What's the 2023 ruling on best WordPress hosting?
I'm most interested in dashboard and file access ease-of-use.
- still using siteground.complash
- Yep, I moved all of my sites over to Siteground, very happy with their services.elahon
- 16 sites with Siteground, not a single one has gone down since I switched 7 months ago. Shit was going down constantly over at Dreamhost.elahon
- @plash @elahon thanks dudes!Krassy
- do you guys have access to the WordPress codebase via FTP using siteground?Krassy
- I have everything on Siteground, too. They had a hiccup w support, but it's pretty great now. Dreamhost has been good. Hostgator is a total nightmare.formed
- I signed up for Siteground last night and loving it so far. Thank you all for the recommendation. BTW, answer to my previous Q is 'yes' and also support is Gr8Krassy

What are folks' experiences with Kinsta? Is it worth the money? How is the performance and their responsiveness to issues?
I've had it with MediaTemple. Those fuckers are useless.

Has anyone used this company?

Adding this as a new bit, duh:
We're using LiquidWeb's VPS with WHM/cPanel and we're currently hosting like 84 WP sites with ease.
They have great support, live chat and almost no queues to talk to someone. Very happy with their service, been with them for 6 or 7 years now.

The problem with these wordpress hosting companies is that they don't allow outside databases. We typically set up other databases with our build and don't really want to integrate into the same database.
If anyone finds a good one that allows multiple databases as well as SSH, I'd definitely be interested.
- right now we are using AWS Lightsaildbloc

i've had a webfaction account for years and love it. they recently were acquired with godaddy so it even makes domain mgmt easier. (granted i haven't used their support since the merger but i've never had issues.)

SiteGround just changed their support and went from some very good support to almost worthless overnight. I submitted 6 problems in 6 months, but apparently that is too much and they blocked chat support (so now it's submitting a ticket, wait a few days, answer a question, wait another day or two, etc.).
Looking for a new hosting service and thas reliable and consistent support.
Any new suggestions?

In case anyone is interested, Siteground is having a pretty substantial sale:

Anyone using SiteGround?

I've heard good things and am about to move over (from MT)
- please don'tsted
- please don't...?formed
- we had some serious performance problems, and their answer was that we should switch to larger packages.sted
- and we had the 100k visitor package...
support was some next level asshole, after some time they just simply ignored the tickets.sted - when we decided to move the sites they fucked up the EPP codes. it took two weeks to move 3 domains because of thissted
- And they told us that it was the fault of the new hosting companysted
- ugh. This is why I've stayed with MT for so long - problems but they always put effort into resolving the issues.formed
- are you using 1&1 now? Haven't dealt w them in years, but they always seemed like a GoDaddyformed
- cloudways and 1and1, 1and1 improved quite seriously in the recent years. they aren't godaddy, just make sure you pay your bills.sted
- good to know, thanksformed
- I use siteground and have 3 WP sites at the moment. Could not be happier. No issues and support has been so quick. Have used Godaddy, MT, hostgator and have...VectorMasked
- been disappointed. A colleague of mine and client made the switch to siteground as well and they have not had any issues in 6 months.VectorMasked
- good to know that, too, thanks for sharingformed

I left MT a while back. I switched everything to a Digital Ocean server, running Serverpilot.io.
Pros:
- Way faster than MT. I have an agency that I work for, and I'll build on my server, then launch on their MT server. The performance hit is noticeable and significant.
- Cheaper.Cons:
- Not quite as user-friendly.
- You're on your own a bit more than MT.
- No email- What's the main advantage of serverpilot?reanimate
- Serverpilot is going to handle installing all your software on Digital Ocean. PHP, Apache, MySQL, Ngnix, etc.noneck
- Then you do all your admin through serverpilot (adding sites, etc).noneck
- I never got why people fall into these traps. We use cPanel and Plesk for years and i can just laugh on these magical "server tools" and "control panels".sted
- You use cPanel and Plesk, and "laugh on these magical...control panels"? WTF do you think cPanel and Plesk are?noneck
- Also, having used cPanel and Plesk, I can say that they're both horseshit.noneck
- eh? how come?
cPanel is.. well, it just works.detritus - noneck ok. I was talking about the custom control panels. exactly why are they horseshit?sted
- honestly I think cpanel and plesk are very user friendlydbloc
- is there any better alternative? plesk onyx is really smart and i know from experience that ppl used to fuck it up at the setup by choosing the wrong interface.sted

If you're willing to pay, Kinsta is great. Cheapest is $100 month but worth it.
- Their enterprise plans look great on paper but then https://wpengine.com… Kind of seems like wpengine has things locked down.Mattjanz3n
- development is painful on wpengine.sted
- are things really worth that price? So much more....but if it makes a big difference, what's another grand!formed
- dbloc0
We're looking for fast hosting for clients. Not necessarily the cheapest.
- dbloc0
(mt) is really shitty these days. We are looking for an alternative as well.
- Mattjanz3n0
Anyone worked with enterprise WP hosting? Considering using the WP Engine enterprise service but wondering how it stacks up to competition like Pantheon etc.
- How much is it?dbloc
- $600/month = 400,000 visits. 30 GB local storage etc. All kinds of other priority support and stuff.Mattjanz3n
- yowza!dbloc
- noneck0
Funny that no one is recommending MT.
One of my agency clients got their MT account hacked recently. I have no love for them anymore.
- MT has gone to shit. Customer service is generic. Thanks Godaddy.ArmandoEstrada
- I am on MT's WP hosting...yeah, problems, so looking for a new placeformed
- we use primarily (mt) and are now running into many problems. It's soooo slooooowdbloc

We use Rackspace Cloud Hosting and they are great. Awesome support, very fast and reliable.

1$ for basic wp with a domain+ssl
https://www.1and1.com/wordpress-…
But you can get a vps with plesk for $10 and use it for whatever you want (unlimited traffic, domains, wp sites etc)
- mattwrightgd0
Ive always used https://tsohost.com really helpful guys
- ArmandoEstrada0
Cloudways, you get the benefit of digital ocean or google with managed support. And cheap.
