Thinking about throwing down on one of the new Macbook Pro 13" jammys.
Any good recommendations for a good, color accurate monitor to pair with it? Preferably something that isn't stupid expensive?

- if this is considered not "stupid expensive" i need to exit this thread asap.HijoDMaite

- sted, apple monitors are almost all made by LG.zarkonite
- A 31" 4k colour accurate display for 1400$ is NOT stupid expensive.zarkonite
- Fair enough . I bet its dope .HijoDMaite
- Any Apple stickers with it to remove silly LG logo?OctopiStimuli

I've been working off of a MBP 13" laptop for around 3 years now.
I hook it up to dual Dell UltraSharp 24" LCDs. I've had really good luck with the ultrasharps, and to my eyes the quality is just as good as an Apply display.
That being said, I do web work, not print. Perfect color accuracy isn't important to me, but a crisp display that doesn't hurt my eyes after hours of viewing is - and that's exactly what I've got.
I plan on buying the Dell 34" curved ultrasharp display soon, but haven't felt flush enough to want to pull the trigger yet. https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Ultr…

Why you buy a stupid expensive laptop but don't want a stupid expensive display? What do you need the monitor for? Keep in mind that a 13" MBP is as powerful as a solar powered calculator, so don't go nuts in resolution...

The Wirecutter recommends the Dell UltraSharp U2715H and Dell's P2715Q. Both are under $500. But not much detail about how they work with Macs and the comments aren't glowing endorsements.
Has anyone tried either of these with a MacBook Pro?
- I can't think of any reason why any current monitor wouldn't work with a Mac. To date I haven't found one that isn't compatible.monospaced
- They all work, though you may or may not need specific adaptors. The Apple-sanctioned LG UltraFine 4K Displays with the USB-C plugs reduce that.evilpeacock
- Yes, Dell UltraSharp U2715H is beautiful and all you need.e-wo

look for wide gamut monitors with hw calibration, forget lg, benq, samsung, or hp

Personally I'd try to snap up one of the last gen MBPs. More flexibility on the port situation and you can probably get a deal.
This is the screen Apple seems to be touting as replacement for the Cinema Displays:

I've had Mac displays & the big iMac. Sold em both, bought an older Dell 27" flatpanel, and kept the difference. Smartest move ever.

Just to throw it out there:
https://system76.com/Not the prettiest machines but your choices of configuration is astounding.
An example laptop:
- IPS (!) LED screen
- Nvidia 8gb GTX 1070
- 4.2ghz i7
- 32gb DDR4
- The SSD...holy shit. Forget that 4-500mb/sec...get a 2600/1600
- Room for 3 more SSDs btw...for the cost of the 15" macbook pro.
- Was checking these too. Would totally get a lemur if it had a thunderbolt 3 portsection_014
- True. True. I'm curious to know if the components would allow to turn this into a hackintosh. Because adobe.Peter

Just buy a Surface Studio instead of a crappy Macbook Pro with no connections!

There might be something worth it in here:

I have been using Samsung 29" Curved monitor S29E790C, and this is completely different experience using my computer.

You wouldn't think that a monitor would make THAT much of a difference... but it does... and it does it for the better.
You can do a lot of convenient things with desktop apps, web browsers, and of course, there are many (but not all) games that support it.

Just got a new monitor:
https://www.viewsonic.com/uk/pro…
Seems good.. I have no experience of monitors having always used Mac stuff and most recently a lovely 2013 iMac that had ZERO problems for 10 years heavy use...
... except, it's got a 'stuck' green pixel after using it for 1 day.
Is this normal when you buy PC stuff?
Is there a fix?
And why the F hasn't apple just made a decent M1 iMac 27"...- Stuck pixels aren't uncommon and usually a few are "within spec"; However, the cheaper the panel/company the more likely you'll get them.evilpeacock
- It wasn't 'cheap' ' cheap'.shapesalad
- It's not that Viewsonic is bad; "Cheaper" just meant you didn't pay *a lot* more — a la Eizo. Gotta pay more for better warranties and QC!evilpeacock
