Quick work trip coming up tomorrow. I'll likely be busy during the day; however, will be free in the evening and the following morning. I've never been and would love any tips or suggestions for places to eat/drink/do shit in the evenings and breakfast/coffee spots for the inevitable morning recovery. Staying in the "New East Side" if that helps/means anything.
Thanks y'all!

If you're downtown, check out Revival Food Hall that just opened a while back at 125 South Clark Street. http://revivalfoodhall.com. Lots of good food there.
If you want to go up high in a building, go to the Hancock building's 96th floor bar / restaurant and have a drink or two. It beats paying the entry fee for the observatory, and it's a pretty incredible view.
We also have a new riverwalk along the south portion of Wacker Drive that's good for people watching, walking along the bridges, etc. http://riverwalkchicago.com/http…
If you're into Italian food and have never been to Eataly (there's one in NYC), check that place out and eat some good stuff.
https://www.eataly.com/us_en/sto…The lakefront in front of Grant Park is really nice too. There are still boats in the harbor, good for photos, and walking down to the museum campus where the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, and Adler Planetarium are located.

Hide in your hotel room an try not to get shot.

Thread title sounds like a movie title, a la 'Escape from LA', or '30 Days of Night'.
If TV has taught me anything (and it hasn't), I'd say you should:
- try not to get shot
- eat a Doug's Dog at Wrigley Field
- lean your head against the glass window at Willis tower and say 'I think I see my dad'
- buy some vinyl at Gramaphone records
- really try not to get shot

Don't go into the Willis Tower when afraid of heights.
