are you people actually buying this shit?
like, it's a great show in terms of entertainment but come the fuck on. there are plot holes larger than the budget of the fucking show in this. as if these hosts wouldn't have security beacons to activate cameras in areas they are being any sort of reconstructed in?
fun show but christ. let's not just fold to HBO's hand because they have the branding for it.
- if your entire crew who runs the place except a few is under one mans total control you can fuck those cams and surveillance.sted
- it's entertaining as fuck. what more do you want?inteliboy
- Beacons and fucking Cameras! Aren't you paying attention??? Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!sofakingback

that look of pleasure on Ed Harris's (William/MiB) face when he got shot at the very end...

loved the "after credit scene" like a marvel movie

For the record I called it that Bernard was a host a month ago. *swish*

- So did he work with GMUNK on Interstellar?teh

Has anyone mentioned or considered if the "event" 30 years ago could be what happened in the original movie? Likely not, but it would be a nice call back.
- 30 years ago, Delores killed Arnold. Teddy helped.robthelad
- It clearly is.doggydoggdog
- @robthelad - Sure, but more than just that happened, I suspect. They should the lower levels of the building after.ETM
- *should = shut downETM

So we're supposed to believe Ford is some sort of Elon Musk who invested billions on a theme park and singlehandedly built and programmed lifelike robots and their backstories?
- he's probably an android tooRamanisky2
- he did it with arnold, and engineersscarabin
- He's a control freak but never talks to the security guy either.freedom
- Charlotte said to MiB "Your early investment kept this place going..." or similar to that effect, so his money had a big part.ETM
- So many questinesyuekit
- well 40k per day X however many months he's spent in there is quite an investment, tooscarabin

My theory: Arnold still exists as a sort of ghost of himself in the code of the hosts. Perhaps as an amalgum of all the hosts' intelligence he has been able to continue changing code of hosts like Maeve, Dolores, and Bernard and even whispering to them. Deus ex machina sort of thing, pun probably intended.
The Maze is 'not meant for' the MIB because he is a human. The Maze exists for the hosts to find their consciousness, whether it exists as a concrete or abstract thing I'm not sure. But it was created by Arnold for them to 'find him,' and he, or rather THEY the hosts, are the person in the center.
Additional evidence for this is that the Maze revealed itself to MIB when Maeve revealed her underlying humanity/sentience at the death of her child, collapsing into the center of the design on the ground.
- totally agree with your Maze theory, also i would love to see what are they doing with the collected data about (from) the visitorssted
- I think MIB wants his consciousness converted into a program before he dies.hotroddy
- thats an interesting theory, as every host MIB came in contact with told him the maze wasn't for him.. hmmme-pill

Well then. Anyone still on the fence with timelines? When are we?
- after re-watching the fist episodes it's nonsense. every single character talks about the fact that the park was there 30 years ago.sted
- It's 100% linear one timeline.monospaced

I began to think every host is based on someone real.
So William might be based on MIB's youth, when he first came to park, and they can be in the same timeline now.
This was also what that Board girl had said. The goal of Delos is not to entertain people, it is to collect information about people.
Hosts are collecting this info from guests for years and certain new hosts are maybe being built on that.In the future they can replace the real ones in real life with their own clones. Maybe they already did.
- always thought hector was based on loganbrandelec
- Info like: penis size, sexual endurance, fetishes, left-handed v right handed, etc.sarahfailin

So who's the third guy in the photo with Ford and Arnold?
- I assume that's Bernard, maybe??Ramanisky2
- ford's dadbrandelec
- ford / ford's dad / bernarnoldbrandelec
- ^ Apparently this.ETM
- Pic looked photoshopped from space.sarahfailin

The blueprint Theresa found said "Bernard" but in the flashback Ford had to think of a name when he came alive?
- we couldn't see what it said on blueprint. we saw 'dolores' though on the other onebrandelec
- Yeah I never saw it say Bernard...sarahfailin

interesting info on MIB's gun
- I thought it was going to be in the context of the show, meaning like it could be the only gun that could kill humans or somethingMiguex
- nah but here's an article on how they work in context https://www.thrillis…scarabin

Why are the techies giving into Maeve?
- because of certain indiscretions brought upon the droids by the techies that she is using as blackmail.Ramanisky2
- I'm still finding it a little hard to swallow, though. It's gone a little to far to be reasonable.ETM
- haaaaaaa, this guyrobthelad
- one of the guys was caught having sex with the hosts, which means job termination and jailtime, the other one kinda wants to do it because he sees her as humanMiguex
- bainbridge0
Do you think Westworld is a fake world or built on actual canyons and forests?
- Like San Junipero in Black Mirror??Ramanisky2
- ^
Nah, more like Manteca Falls, I thinkMiguex
- scarabin1
^ my thoughts on that–
the only place big enough to contain such a massive place would be space, and i don't think it would be very interesting if that chick and her horde escapes westworld only to find themselves contained in a station or ship. i see the threat being them mixing with the rest of normal society.
which makes me think westworld's sky is actual sky, and the mountains are actual mountains. there's enough land in the southwest to contain it, for sure.
however, why are the animals fake? why the fake birds and snakes? wouldn't real birds and wildlife be mixed in with the robotic ones?
UNLESS they did it all underground, which seems like more trouble than it's worth. digging miles of cavern and lighting it all? that's just crazy (but then so is space)
- Truman ShowRamanisky2
- may be an island? i think droid animals because they can. they mention the cost of creating hosts as being more effective than before, so why not build embrandelec
- If you want animals to play roles in narratives, they need to be fake. Would real vultures circle a dead host, for example?ETM
- Or what about crossing paths with a snake that is sure not to bite? I am sure there are very mundane elements to many narratives.ETM
- yeah that's truescarabin
- island would work i guess but they'd have to redo all of the terrain to be desert instead of tropical or whateverscarabin
- another massive pain in the assscarabin
- http://www.slashfilm…ETM
- But it could still be an island. "Delos Incorporated". Delos is an actual Greek island and in mythology was the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis.ETM
- Twins, Apollo is often associated with the sun, Artemis with the moon, in an almost Yinyang relationship, often working together.ETM
- Ethical issues with killing animals too, maybe. Certainly horses...set
- if it is just regular terrain, it would be a pain in the ass making sure nobody flew a plane or drone into the areamonospaced
- robotic animals makes sense to keep the place safer and on-script, but also makes it a hassle to remove any real creatures ... crazy shitmonospaced
