I am looking to get a PC strictly for gaming and a mac laptop for work and have them both connected to an apple cinema display monitor ( using a dock for the laptop ). This way I can play some awesome games and use a mac for design etc ( plus take it to clients ).
Does anyone have any experience with this please?
Any screen suggestions perhaps that are cheaper than mac screens, great for gaming and also great for design?
Thanks!

DELL
DELL
DELL- Are they any good for design? Can I wall mount it?Kiko
- Yeah, Apple use(d) Dell for their panels. Can't go wrong for an all-round monitor, especially with g-sync.face_melter
- Thing is, if you're getting a decent PC for gaming, it will flatten the Mac in terms of performance - the graphics card primarily.face_melter
- Thanks for the info! Looking into it now.Kiko

The Asus PG... Model is also a killer device, but the Dell looks more like an adult product.
You don't already bought an Apple Display or? Please do not buy these
- Why not? I was looking into it. Very expensive. I currently own an Imac 27 and I love the screen.Kiko
- You will be able to get the exact same panel from its original manufacturer much cheaper, be it Dell or whoever. Don't buy Apple displays.face_melter
- The Apple Cinema Display glares, can not be calibrated properly, has low resolution and high latency. Comparable displays cost around $200.mekk
- comparables are not quite that cheap... more like $400-$750monospaced
- even the Dell up a couple of posts retails for $800, and you can't even use it to daisy chain thunderboltmonospaced
- $500 gets you a dell 5K display with everything you like: https://www.amazon.c…

- Yes, that's a nice display, thanks. Only 2.5k, half of the 5k, but nice.monospaced
- and right exactly in the middle of the range I stated, too, so thanks for backing up my point :)monospaced
- Nope. Don't get apple display. Same reason as mekk stated. Can't calibrate. And not even sure if it's 100% adobergb cuz apple refuge give give out that info.pango
- If I remember correctly. Third party testing says it has 98% srgb and with even lower coverage of adobeRGB. I need to find that test result again...pango

I've always bought Dell monitors... aside from my last one, which was from a small British company - http://hazro.com/
I bought it because it was basic but had a great panel and a solid metal case and was cheap - but it has fuck-all features.
But then, I never use features.
The supplier I bought from - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ - is who I'd recommend all Brits buy from, but they've stopped stocking Hazro for whatever reason.
Again though - go to a shop and try out a curved monitor. That's what I'd get next for gaming (well, I'd prefer a Vive :)

By "get" do you mean build a pc? If not, definitely build. It's not hard, and definitely worth it.
- build is a possibilityKiko
- Aye, build that shit - it's a lot easier than you think and you can save on the parts by buying from different places.face_melter
- Oh yeah, build it. Seriously. it's really not hard and is almost fun. Almost. And at least you'll know how it all works when it breaks... :)detritus
- Came from 10+, years of Macs with zero modern PC knowledge. Built mine in half a day and had a huge erection when it booted up and worked first time.face_melter

I wish Dell or the like designed a monitor that looked decent...
