I've always been a huge fan of asymmetrical cords: when not using the phones for a while, they can just rest behind the neck, no need to pack them away. Also very useful in traffic.
What happened? It is practically impossible to find J-cords for brands such as Sennheizer, AKG etc. these days.
Do people really hate this feature?
Any hacks to transform a Y-cord into a J-cord?
if you have some heat shrink tubing and a soldering iron it's pretty easy to shorten one of the wires. just chop out the part you don't want and splice it back together.
you could get away without the soldering iron but if you're hacking something nice you're gonna want the added security of the solder.
use the heat shrink tubing to give it all a clean finish.
