Isn't District One where most of the tourist stay in Ho Chi Minh?
Just be careful when crossing the street :)
- not just the street. sidewalk/park/lawn doesn't even matter! and make sure you look every direction. directional flow is nonexistent.lvl_13
- Also crazy to see people with 3 or 4 year old kids balanced precariously on their bike in rush hour traffic. Pretty common in that part of the world though.yuekit

Definitly do HCMC for a couple of days, Hoi An for maybe two or three, then skip over down to Phu Quoc for a week or so for fantastic beaches.
Although July, might be quite rainy ...

Thanks, what area in HCMC would you recommend to stay at?
I heard there's a loads of Russian tourists at the beaches in the south, is it true?

Went there for 4 weeks in February. I would highly recommend Hoi an and Hanoi. How long are you going for?

+1 for Hoi An and Hanoi. If you're heading north and have time the train journey on the Reunification Express is great. It's longer than flying but way more fun.
If you have time I'd really recommend heading up to Sapa in the mountains. Stunning place and people.
And like a lot of places, if there's no price visible, agree it first before you do anything!
