do you have it aligning to pixel grid or something?
- TheMagicSheep0
Nope. No pixel grid alighment.
Stranger still...On some other strokes in the same file, it will make one end rounded and one end will flatten out. In this case it's flattening both ends though

there's definitely only one point at either end of the stroke?
- oh, sorry, should've read your last postdetritus
- definitely only one point at the endTheMagicSheep

instead of using OBJECT > PATH > OUTLINE STROKE... they OBJECT > EXPAND ?
- they = tryprophetone
- or vice versa, maybe diff result?prophetone
- Tried both, same resultTheMagicSheep

Is it a blend? Expand the blend?

Post the ai file for the broken path to see if we can replicate the problem?
.
tbh, I suspect it's just a random AI fuck up - I'm sad to say I'm seeing more random fuck ups since CC :(
if you turn the object 90° (etc) before expanding, does it still do it?
- I have a feeling it's a random fuck up.
It seems if I adjust the curve of the path a tad, it works.TheMagicSheep - ^ well...it works sometimesTheMagicSheep

When you Anchor click on the end points, is there any difference between the strokes? eg. the one that's fuckign up has a curve on it that bends back into itself?

Seems like your setting is on a weird brush. Maybe the settings are janky?
- TheMagicSheep0
Here is a dropbox link to the same ai file where a similar effect happens.
I can expand most of the shapes but a couple flatten out.

When you flatten the transparency on these it definitely gives you some weird anchor points within the endpoints. And changing the angle of the endpoint and anchor points within the stroke seems to eliminate it from happening. Seems like a weird AI bug to me.
- But flattening the transparency does give you an expanded stroke to work with.fiver

Sorry, I've no fucking idea.
As far as I can tell, it's a glitch. Move the anchors a mill and it works fine.

expand transparency, make it all vector.
sometimes expand just doesn't work.

Thanks for the help guys.
I think just adjusting the anchors a tad solves the problem. At least it wasn't some stupid check box i missed or something like that.
