Really can't blame Yahoo here. I can only imagine the amount of technical debt they've incurred throughout the years. Also, I can only imagine the type of users they need to support, older browser, etc...

CEO Marissa Mayer announced that Yahoo saw a massive $4.43 billion loss in the 4th quarter ending on December 31st, 2015.
She will be cutting 15% of its workforce, or about 1,700 jobs, and said that she will not taking a pay cut herself.

'So, one weekend this summer, I rolled up my sleeves and dove into the trenches with our logo design team: Bob Stohrer, Marc DeBartolomeis, Russ Khaydarov, and our intern Max Ma. We spent the majority of Saturday and Sunday designing the logo from start to finish, and we had a ton of fun weighing every minute detail.'

Never mind whole 'brand' and 'business' thing. You know, purpose and stuff. Lets crack open illustrator at the weekend.
