sucks to have to put it in a wristband and manually put in the thing into sleepmode, but it works pretty well.
their next product Withings Aura is a sleep tracker radio alarmclock thing that looks interesting imo

No mention of the Sony one yet, waterproof too...

I went with the withings pulse - the deciding factors were the pulse monitor and the fact that you don't wear it on your wrist, but you can if you want to.
So far so goo, but yesterday it didn't want to count steps until noon, so that was odd. Seems to be working fine again but the email to support has not been answered yet.
Second place was the misfit shine... still considering getting one of those and comparing the two.

I've got the Misfit Shine, and quite happy with it.
http://www.misfitwearables.comIt's actually waterproof, and it can track activities other than just walking/running - like cycling and swimming.

Cheers for that uan - I'm going to give the Withings Pulse a go, based largely on the fact that it is not on your wrist and it has a heart rate function.

definitely not the fuelband, they just announced they are discontinued

^ that looks pretty good too. The waterproof bit is just so sensible

I almost purchased the fitbit one - but i didn't. I really liked all of its capabilities, but something came up and I didn't want to purchase it. I've heard a lot of good things about the fitbit products.

I almost got one too. Samsung's band actually looks interesting, but I'll wait for more refinement. Apple's rumors sound pretty interesting too, though I am not going to pay $1000 for an iWatch.
Next gen devices should be pretty interesting. Give me heart rate, a little more data and I am sold. Maybe a little more logic on what activity you are doing (I dont' think they can tell if you are walking vs. on an elliptical, but dont really know)
- why would you do workouts wirth it. FIT BITS gives you heath rate etc.akrok

i got nike sportband. also have fuelband but fu...no really needed.
when it come to running, sportband is way better. plus it was only like 49 or 59 bucks. you do need to have the senor on the shoe either nikeplus shoes or other brand with a pouch.if you want to spend a bit more and don't do running inside a gym, like on a treadmill. then i would recommend nike sportwatch w/GPS.
- and if you want heart rate, i think FIT bit is the one to go with.akrok

I have a fitbit flex and I love it. Gets me off the couch every day so I can at least hit my goal of 10k steps a day. Their customer service is great too. I had to get a replacement dongle and they sent it out asap with no questions asked.
Yeah. I said dongle.

Can't beat the Nike FuelBand... Tried some of the others.

I think its ridiculous that most of these are not really suitable for swimming.
Does the fuelband track sleep patterns?
I'm liking the basis (https://www.mybasis.com/) mostly because it has a heart rate function. But not so sure I want one that looks like a watch.
Still haven't decided ... prolly fitbit or up24 but the up24 seems to have some serious reliability issues especially if it gets wet.

Can't believe Nike decided to exit the market completely. I thought they were the frontrunner.
- doing a new one with apple by the looks of itset
- band was cool but the concept was crap, iPhone exclusive and shit.. gamification doesn't work long term for real sportspplmekk
- interesting, wasn't aware of the apple connectionmonospaced
- they announced an android app but it never came, there are 3rd party apps but not worth it..mekk
