I'm really behind so I started watching Legion. Normally I'm not that into marvel shows but it seems really well made. There are 3 seasons.

Dumb and hilarious. Easy to binge in 1/2 a day.

The Beatles - Get Back (Disney +)
McCartney 3,2,1 (Disney +)Fascinating and at times incredible but, like running a marathon, it takes lots of effort to complete and i'm not entirely sure it was worth it.
Get Back - Witnessing the the process of writing Beatles songs was mesmerising and a privilege. The remastered film looks incredible and Peter Jackson has done his best to curate a window into the bands soul. There are some awesome, slice-of-life moments throughout, particularly the 3 Policemen towards the end and the seemingly endless amount of tea and toast.
There's a weird Peter Sellers moment and the Jon/Yoko/Heroin difficulties are there but unacknowledged. I came away thinking Harrison and Starr were consistently confined to the backseat and Paul was desperately trying to be the glue in a broken and hopeless marriage.McCartney 3,2,1 - Brilliant and insightful. However, I can't get over the Post production/After Effects work on McCartneys 'age'. Also, I don't think McCartney likes Rick Rubins lack of footwear.
Ultimately, they're worth the watch but bring snacks.
- Watching 3,2,1 I get the sense Paul is showing early signs of dementia.Brabo_Brabo
- This, and the book, are hislast round. I expect him to drop out of public view soon.Brabo_Brabo
- His last hurrah? I wouldn't be surprised.Morning_star
- I loved 3,2.1 and thought his memory was better than during Anthology 25 years ago. I loved his stories about While My Guitar Gently Weeps...CyBrainX
- ...and how John prodded Paul in to the long notes of harmony on Dear Prudence.CyBrainX
- The Let it Be marathon is a tougher thing to watch. Conflict aside, music is hard work and making an audience sit through rehearsals is a bit much to ask.CyBrainX
- I thought George came off like a hero considering that he demanded they drop the TV special deadline, and then brought in Billy Preston.CyBrainX
- I also loved how John misread the lyrics to All Things Must Pass and then suggested George keep a "mind" can blow those clouds away.CyBrainX
- @CyBrainX You've mentioned some brilliant moments and there are lots more, and I think for me that's where Get Back is redeemed.Morning_star
- I liked Get Back but thought it really was too long. I don't care what Jackson says, those 6hrs should have been cut to 3hrs.Hayzilla
- ^ I agree for a general audience but I would have gladly sat through every second they edited to make up the final 7 hours.CyBrainX

Just finished The Serpent. It’s so well made and such a fucked up story based on real events. Highly binge worthy.
- Yep.MrT
- Those airport ticker transitions every time they change timelines really highlights the quality of the show.palimpsest

The Pale Horse
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt104…
Another fine Agatha Christie adaptation, Rufus Sewell was excellent, as always.
- How many anachronisms can you find in this picture? I'm up to three.Nairn
- Oh you :)Wordsworth
- :) I meant it reverently - I lived in a village not dissimilar to this as a kid, so had a good ol' peer at it to see what I could find. They did a good job!Nairn
- The flue things on the roof and lum. PVC doors (bottom right) and, erm, the black guy?Brabo_Brabo
- It wouldnt be a 20s version of the 50s without an anachronistic black guy.Brabo_Brabo

Maybe Anderson's best model and miniature work? Some of the plotlines are brutal for a scifi show from 1970 - people losing their kids, body horror, mind control. Interesting to see some of the additional cast turn up later in the Doctor Who, particularly during the peerless Tom Baker run.
- After the fall of season 2 the sets and costumes were used as a basis for the series Space 1999. I love these two series.D4W33D
- Lol I thought this was a Wes Anderson or spike jonze spoof trailer on those types of series, no idea it was real_niko
- That intro looks a LOT like the intro to The Prisoner. Why did the last two episodes originally air nearly 2 years later than the others?CyBrainX
- Even more bizarre, there were 4 movies made after the series ended. I've never even heard of this series. I guess it was only successful in the UK?CyBrainX

Probably late to the game. But just got around to watching Gangs Of London. I had no idea what I was in for, Was anticipating typical ganster drama. And it is, but DAAAMMN the action is next level. Riveting scenes and cinematography. Hooked real fast. Brutal!

holy shit this looks so good, I'm giddy with excitement. Just even from the nostalgic 80's wrestlers when they were younger scenes.
- This is the recommend thread douche bag. "this looks" can fuck off over to trailer of the day. ;-)Hayzilla
- haha ok, i'll watch it tonight and report back in the morning._niko
- straightened him out right quickdkoblesky
- Lol Ok fucker’s, watched the first two episodes with the family and it’s so good, especially if you grew up a wrestling fan in the 80’s_niko
- ^ It stays then. Thank you.Hayzilla

Not the new version of the The Stand. Awful. I hate myself for sticking with it thinking it was going to get better.
- the old one in all its vhs glory is way bettertank02
- I don't think the problem was the tv show, just King's writing being past its best. The first episode was good. The old show was pretty hokey too.PhanLo
- maybe, but Sinise is better lead than Teddy Westworld. Old Flagg is way more scarier.
King his writing has always been ups and downs.tank02 - I hope one day somebody will make a series of 'Earth abides' the book from the 30ies where all these are based on.tank02
- 50ies I mean
https://en.wikipedia…tank02 - The old show was good, just the story itself falls apart with the road to Vegas stuff. The character development in the new one was a bit pony too I suppose.PhanLo
- idd, why did they need to go Vegas anyways. Ah I also did not like the actor who played Tom.tank02
- It felt so flat. I can’t remember the book that well anymore but remember caring about the characters. I only cared about the dog kojack and Tom in this.thumb_screws
