don't you think its odd the creative director decides on prices... you would think he would leave that over to the account or art buyer...

What's "proactive" work? Is that like a pitch?

Also, you guys are getting a little hot and bothered over a very small matter. The guy said something stupid and a little insulting in a private email. Nobody's perfect. Let's move on.
- yupernexbcn
- I think people here are just chatting about it... not so much hot and botheredmonospaced
- It's not like someone on QBN made the emails public.monospaced
- My point exactly. He didn't say anything racist. Not professional for sure, but the worse part was that he didn't offer to pay.omahadesigns
- who would do such a thing...?robotron3k
- yeah nobody is hot and bothereduuuuuu

If this Roy Torres bloke ends up on QBN to lose his shit at us, I'm going to be pretty entertained.
Oh, wait ... new registrations are closed.

Nothing worse than an agency creative who thinks they can direct film.

Torres comes back with that response when he's the one who initiated the conversation in the first place?
Wacko.
That's like going in a clothing store...
1. Torres asks the owner for a free shirt because he's going to wear it to a big event.
2. Owner says no.
3. Torres responds by telling the owner that he didn't like the clothes in the first place.

"real artists...who paint on real canvases. Not the digital fake stuff."
just demonstrates the level of respect and comprehension he has in the field he supposedly works in. reminds me of something some douche bag with an MBA would utter

maybe he meant to say, "painters."

Has anyone called the police?

i had a similar experience with some chick at Grey NYC a while back (maybe 2008/9 when i was still in nyc). She called me in for 3 interviews, asked me to do a project that they 'might' work on with me as the lead. then told me i would be a good fit for the position. After that i never heard from her again only a month or so later to tell me they didnt have any openings. Long story short, a few months after that i saw my idea/concept in an ad that they ran for a client. Grey are a bunch of scumbags. period. i hope they each get what they deserve.
- You got paid to pitch though, right?bainbridge
- nope. i interviewed, then was told 'as a part of the process' type thing. this was partially my fault, but since it was a concept and i didnt flush it out, i figured it was just for the job position.

I think the biggest crime here is that Roy was looking to hire the shitty illustration services of Travis Wright. He clearly had no budget and was scraping the bottom the barrel of "artists".
- Not nice.bainbridge
- So you're saying as an ACD, Roy should have been able to make shitty illustrations himself an not rely on talent of others.robotron3k
- Bainbridge: and publicly shaming someone here OK? Does anyone here have a connection to this? No.MarleyMarl
- Nonsense.dopepope
