And if you have a CS6/CC subscription, it's free, no?

How is $50-$100 a year to use Proxima Nova via Typekit a barrier, except perhaps for a personal site?
- $100/yr allows 1M page views a month.ETM

Lato or noto sans are closer to proxima nova.
Or you could spend $67 bucks and get the Gibson font.

Proxima nova definitely feels and looks quality. It makes a huge difference IMO but that shit it expensive. It depends on what your priorities are and what you guys are willing to spend on at this point.
Open sans is ok too. It works. and it's free

Canon here in Aus recently adopted Proxima across everything including the web. Not the most exciting of sites but the font is great on screen.

For 99% of projects, the difference between the two is too negligible to make new costs a worth factor. Free = uncomplicated.

I prefer Proxima Nova, but Open Sans is free.
In a way in comes down to whether you still want to pay for Proxima Nova 3 years down the road.

Having a bit of a debate at the moment with a colleague. We're developing a web application and it's currently using Open Sans. I quite like it, but they are trying to convince me that Proxima Nova looks better.
Any thoughts welcome.
