thanks for all the help. clearing all history and re-installing the browser and deleted a fishy extension seems to have done the trick. boom.

Check the extensions of your browser and remove any crap you find in there. A friend was having issues with Chrome with HTTPS sites and it was some extensions he installed to watch online movies free.

Try this:

If in Chrome or Firefox try disabling all your extensions, clearing your Browsing Data and check for any updates. Maybe even clean install the browsers.

Did you download a "codec" or a "flash update" while visiting some porn site?

Create a new user account on your Mac and see if the problem exists. You might have to ditch the old one if you can't hunt down and uninstall the "malware" YOU installed...willingly...from a porn pop-up.
- usually pretty careful about this dad.rodzilla
- really don't recall "clicking" anything that was suspicous
rodzilla - But you did install. And I did provide some guidance on solving itmonospaced
- you did indeed. thanks for the reminder.rodzilla
- Willingly installed software is not malware. Macs can get malware.404NotFound

Stop downloading and clicking on that macrobot cleaner and mackeeper and all those pop-up ads! Don't click green download buttons, especially when they're coming from porn sites. And certainly don't touch the Microsoft thing, you're on a goddamn Mac.

no, they appear when a browser is open and i've clicked on something. happens when I click links on QBN, dribbble, etc. Sometimes its the macrobot thing cleaner icon, then a microsoft "gold" thing, and just a random popup with a download now green button.

They appearing out of nowhere, like when all browser windows are closed?
