Tis' a shame that things like this have to happen.
I'm not a particularly big fan of Magic Hat beer, but I know they've been a staple in the craft market for quite some time.
There is a definite poaching happening with the 6, 9 and the star shape. Those similarities are undeniable. But beyond that it's hard to say what was ripped and what wasn't, especially without seeing more of their packaging / products and campaign material.

The resemblance is there. Gazing quickly over the photo in the article, I thought they were posting two #9 cans.
Should West Sixth's designer have done a better job? Definitely. Would Magic Hat's case hold up in court? Doubtful.

If they'd sell the beer with the cans upside down, I would understand.

Their smear campaign is appalling. A 1 year old brand tries to smear a 19 year old pioneer.
