where's Chris Hitchens when we need him?
Honestly... I lived near Coventry in the late 80's.... if Maggie was to walk down certain streets during those years, in broad daylight many an average person would reach for a rock on the side of the road and throw it at her with all their strength, there was that much feeling....
- but.. but... she was the iron lady, she did so much for GB, she was so good with the irish, they are going to raise her a statuegeorgesIII
- my Irish flatmate hated her...vaxorcist

Did more damage for my great country than any terrorist, illegal immigrant, or dole bludger.
I ain't gonna take any comfort in her death, but her legacy is not one to be praised.

Good riddance. Between her and Reagan, it made the late 20th unpleasant for all, regardless of where one lived.
- At least reagan's war on drug was a successgeorgesIII

I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left.

I'm not cheering her death, but I wont be stomaching any glowing retrospectives of he life over the next week or so.
Everyone living in Britain today are directly affected by her policies - the mass privatisation of our services and the deregulation of the markets she was such a huge part of set the ticking time bomb of greed that has left the country in the shambles it currently is.
The whole bedroom tax controversy can be traced directly back to the decision to sell off so many council houses leaving us with a lack of one bedroom properties.
And never forget that to her that the economy always came before the day to day lives of the people she was supposed to be serving. The heavy handed destruction of the mining industry, the Poll Tax debacle and so on.
