If they don't say shit about MBP's at next week's event, I'm over it. Honestly, I'll get used to Windows 10 (already run 7 for gaming), and try the Linux inside of Windows feature for unix style servers.
All I want a laptop for is doing some Android and Unity stuff on the go. My old MBP is slow. Thing is 6 years old. It was a great computer, but it needs upgraded. Their current offering is so far behind everyone else. I mean, if they were like $600, that's one thing. But double that for 3+ year old tech. C'mon now.
Worst part is: People (like me) are ready to drop the money on what would still be overpriced hardware.

My 2014 MacBook Pro had nasty key and trackpad outlines etched in to the antiglare coating on the screen glass - it wasn't visible in use until a couple of years ago (and I missed the 4 year Apple replacement scheme) but now it's noticeable all the time and pretty distracting when working on a white background.
I have a new 16" on the way but in order to keep it tidy for work i'm going to try and get at least a couple more years out of this one as a rehearsal room/ live recording rig (i remember gigs)... so I figured I'd try and do a bit of a refurb myself and replaced the battery, rubber feet and charger this week, unfortunately the only way to replace the glass is to replace the whole screen assembly (costing about 300 noop) so that's not really an option. While searching for solutions I found a few people saying that the anti-glare coating could be removed entirely by using Listerine and a microfibre cloth, so fuck it, I thought i'll give it a go...

As you can see, it's much more reflective when the screen is off, but in use it's hardly noticeable - certainly a massive improvement on the state it was in.

Anyone else's 6 or 6+ just goto shit after this last set up of updates?... I think we're on the 3rd iteration of the new IOS as it is.
My phone locks up... gets all twitchy... things become unresponsive at times where you'll tap around wondering why nothing's happening THEN all of the sudden the fucking thing wakes up and starts popping open all the apps you just tapped on... :/
Really fucking frustrating... this recent version of IOS.
OH... the phone just opts to reboot out of nowhere every now and then too or it says it has nearly 30% power and just shuts off.
Don't get me started on the time it takes to reboot too... losing my mind w/this latest IOS update.

These new display and the Mac Pro are for pros and businesses, knowing how long tech last, only a few years, investing all that money in these for an individual would be a very bad choice, unless that individual has lots of money to burn.

New MBP 14 M1 Max arrived....
It's a beast. Keyboard is back and very nice, the ports, MagSafe... all back to how it should be. Most of all really looking forward to testing this Apple silicone, major reason why upgraded after grinding it out on rage inducing sluggishness with intel chips for years.
The screen quality is a jump and feels a lot bigger compared to what am used to on the 13". Personally am digging you can put the menu bar up into the bezel around the camera, have way more real estate now. If 20 year old me was complaining about notches and the inane shit we whine about with todays technology... I'd have kicked myself in the dick...
Only stick out is the new Mac OS.... nice to get a new laptop with a fresh OS... Yet holy shit some of the icons are ugly. And the new OS sounds are really weird and distracting... like a bizarro version of a mac. Am not sure why they changed them. Very questionable on who ever is in charge of this stuff over at Apple, i.e. they need to be fired.

The BenQ monitors feel smaller due to the lack of huge Apple bezel and iMac chin at the bottom. BenQ's feel more fluid going from monitor to monitor, which is nice.
Love that the BenQ monitors are matte. Forgot how much easier that was on the eyes. Also really happy they can be raised and lowered. That was always a flaw of the iMac and Apple monitors. So, now I've got two 4k screens, which is a downgrade from the iMac, but also an upgrade from the Thunderbolt monitor.
Lastly, I HATE THAT EXTERNAL WEB CAM RUINING THE SYMMETRY TWO MONITORS but I will get over it. It's a 4k camera and vastly better picture than any Apple FaceTime camera. I think I'm going to take it off the top and just put it below the right monitor.
