i asked the same thing a week ago. You can embed swf or flv but then you'll run into file size issues. You can link to a site which i suppose it'll reduce the file size significantly, however you'll need internet access to view it (obviously).
And also from what i've read you DO need Acrobat or Reader 9, no less than that.
Wondering if anyone has successfully embedded video in a PDF presentation reliably?
Was challenged with this previously and it seemed to work on some machines but not others.
All the research Ive done indicates it should work if the video is embedded or linked as an FLV or SWF, and viewer has acrobat 9 and flash player.
Any advice or tips appreciated. Thanks
