Hiring ignorance.

Okay, I like to mess around on this site, obviously,
but I am actually a semi-intelligent girl. Let me ask you, if you needed to hire a designer and the designer is an ignoramus that says things like "Japanese gooks can take care of themselves, Japan's rich the US should not help them". Would you look above the ignorance or hire that person, or would you rather distance yourself and hire a good person. Am I wrong? Natalie Portman distanced herself from Galliano. I respect that.

I need context here.
- how would you be able to work with her? I'd slip and kick her in the mouth. twice.antagonista

- rupedixon0
Would you want to have to work with them and put up with their stupidity all the time. Doesn't matter how 'good' they are.
- ********0
Well I would never actually work with them, but you are right QBN. SCREW THE ASSHOLES.
- rupedixon0
Christ, you'll learn their views on race, politics and religion next.
Sound like fun?

No, you don't want to feed the bigot.
- prophetone0
would you feel comfortable with having said designer communicating with your clients? i wouldn't.

Have you trawled their social media posts etc...

Women shouldn't be hiring people. That's a man's job!!!!!!
j/k
But no, don't hire them; they sound like a potentially disastrous liability.
Also, effective hiring is highly looked upon in senior level positions. Being able to put a team together than can work and communicate effectively is ridiculously important.
This person will be representing you and your company in some capacity.
- prophetone0
is his/her last name mcwoozy?
- gramme0
What everyone else said. Don't hire someone who says things that make you uncomfortable the first time you meet them, for crying out loud.

I'm curious, are you asking because this person also happens to be a designer-God? Without that, the question answers itself easily. With that it makes for conversation.

They have potential, but they were bringing some connections and whatnot to the table. But now, nothing he brings is worth it.
- SteveJobs0
to be fair, not hiring them doesn't ensure the next person won't have just as unfavorable of a view about something else. social/ethnic equality is only one of many, many issues you may have dissagreements on.

Nothing is worth lowering yourself to accomodate an asshole with an ego. You degrade your soul.
- that said, pure talent falls into interesting categories of acceptance.zenmasterfoo
