Over time? I wouldn't say passive/aggressive ... murderous and misanthropic is more likely.

Apparently some industry vets need up to 5 years off to shake off the effects of the industry.

Become a freelancer! Breathe your own air! Stop the endless meetings about the account staff's latest fears and foibles! Stop taking the agency kool-aid!
You'll un-burn out fairly fast when you have to forage on your own!
Being passive agressive with your own clients doesn't work... it may work in an agency, as the account staff's trying to mold you into something you're not and resistance is fertile....

I have gone through so many emotions during my client interactions and experiences, and at times have lashed out in a passive-aggressive way. It's never a good idea as it creates negative perceptions about designers, such as a "holier-than-thou" attitude (aka pompousness), and being difficult to work with. The result was a serious self-reflection period (still going through it) where I watch pretty much everything I say or write in an email. It's gotten to the point where I can't even comment on half of these kinds of threads because I feel I'll just start ranting and falling into my old ways. So yeah, it's a problem, but it can be remedied.
