The friends I made in my mid 20's to early 30's out surpass all of my childhood friends. Now that most of us are nearly 40, some have moved away for their career, most are married, some have had kids and I don't see them much, some have moved to the suburbs and some stopped going out all together.
The people that still do live around we'll see once every few months, go out to dinner, take a long weekend together, go on vacation together...
People grow up and move on but it doesn't mean you can't still be friends and make the best of the times when you do get to see them.Great, now you have me talking like a girl you jerk!
