this is exactly why they are doing this. they can charge $0.50 more for a drink by providing a larger cup and an equivalent of ice that likely takes up approx 2/3 of the additional 7oz. it's brilliant.
it's almost another way of them asking "...would you like to add more ice to that for 50 cents more?"
