I'm having trouble understanding what the term "Creative" means.
as in Richard Florida's "The Rise of the Creative Class"
or "Who's that poor fuck in the cubicle over there?"

Creativity: resulting from originality of thought, expression, etc.; imaginative.

I think Hillman Curtis said it best. "making the invisible, visible". To me that takes a creative person. When you have the ability to project a thought, idea or design onto a blank white canvas, then you are considered creative.

I hate the word "creative" as a post in a company...
If someone is a "creative" does it mean that the others are not creative? wth?A friend of mine works as a creative director in an advertising agency. His business card has his name, and below it says "Human Being".

"creative" in a company or agency is just a blanket term to reference to a group of people who do specific tasks. sort of like saying "devs" or "hipsters".

You can say someone IS creative, but not a creative.
