This is what I used to create the sound libraries for my final year university project. I'd attribute a good chunk of it's success and smooth running to this little Flash App!

- Get Max MSP or PureData. It is stupidly easy to pick up and create awesome stuff in.
A coursemate pretty much created his own personalised version of ableton live using Max MSP.******** - Yeah .. it's no fun without an environment where everyone's doing similar stuff tho********

- i have issues with the monome, for 90% of real world uses (abelton) those Akai MPD's are a much better interfacekingsteven

^ It must be a real challenge to adapt to, though, for anyone who plays on traditional keyboards (pianos and synths); it would literally require re-writting your muscle memory from scratch.
