Web Buttons, What Happened?

Any particular reason why so many sites seem to lack roll-over and hit states on buttons?
For example, mailchimp.com (no roll-overs or hits), vs. http://www.youknowwhodesign.com (with roll-overs and hit states for buttons)
Just something I've been wondering about lately.

ummmm....
mail chimp has rollovers and hits for me... Safari 4.0.5
Maybe its a browser issue for you?

mail chimp does have rollovers. If you look closely, the buttons tint a slight white when you rollover.

tablets, ipads, maybe? Since they don't have roll states?
Or possibly laziness....

^ I am inclined to say laziness too, but hadn't considered the lack of roll-over for devices. Devices still have hit states though.
As far as MailChimp, I'm talking about the actual buttons, not navigation. I don't see roll-overs in any of the four browsers I just checked in (check the "SIGN UP FREE" and "HOW IT WORKS" buttons).
I'm talking about CTA buttons, not navigation. If there are rollovers on these, I don't see em in any of these four browsers.

Because I'd never notice that those were buttons without the rollover state.
