I've only just heard about this -> coming out at the end of the month. Looks like it'll run a version of Linux .. it's a proper computer. Maybe better than an iPad?

I always wanted to turn one of those LCD photo frames into a GrannyCam™. The idea would be that you buy two devices .. and you'd hang it on the wall - one in family home, other in Granny's home.
Could be used as a digital photo frame, but the device would also have a camera embedded + one 'call' button - which would allow Granny to link up and stay in contact with the family easily.

Looks ok. But lack of any sort of 3G connectivity, for me, makes this product doomed from the start. Also 4gb of hard drive space??? Methinks it could do with a little more than that.

I've seen a video of it recently and it has serious issues recognizing the finger events, the guy had to do them sometimes up to 3 times until the thing reacted to it
