Doing some financial-based creative for a client, the theme being "The truth about finance" and thought I might get some personal interpretations of truth-y icons before getting my feet wet.

I believe similar words like transparency can also apply in this case.
Truth, honesty, integrity, transparency, etc.

Truth could be considered a singularity that is observable only through ones own filter. That filter being such that no-one else can see through it in quite the same way.
OK. The truth of the matter here is that I may be talking BS, but it sounds like it is fertiliser for something from which the truth might grow.
