since I'm here, probably travel around Australia, otherwise I'd be keen to take the train across northern canada like greg did http://www.flickr.com/photos/gdu… and then down the west coast to see friends in Portland, SF, etc... maybe see parts of europe that I never saw like scandinavia, parts of russia, etc...

i'd get the train from london to istanbul. http://www.seat61.com/Turkey.htm… - but I'd go via east cost of italy and get boat from Bari to greece and go up that way.
from there i woul get the train to damascus and maybe beirut - or alternatively i'd get the train to Iran (visit tehran/esfahan etc).
