Multitouch.. the ability to lay it flat .. you could use it combined with a mobile phone for augmented reality mapping etc.. A decent way to read PDF's - a nice way to sketch / write notes (no need for a wacom tablet). Could create a larger screen by laying multiple tablets next to each other. Could have it hung on the wall as a digital photo frame when not in use.
There are lots of new possibilities .. I think tablets could definitely be useful. Think how useful the iphone is.. a tablet is an iphone with more real estate.

I find the whole tablet PC market fascinating - Apple have managed to get everyone to believe that 2010 is the year of the tablet just by repeatedly telling them "we don't think the time is right" for several years. It's much more effective than Microsoft's "Windows was my idea" campaign because the human race will have actually weaved the 'iTablet' themselves by standing in line, ass to mouth.

I think that if touch screen had come before 'buttons', buttons would be seen as a innovation.
Apart from a few uses, I kind of think that tablets will be something we point and laugh at in 20 years.
Because.... you know what the most annoying thing as a computer user is? It's the cunts who actually TOUCH your fingerprint-less, clean, monitor.
