is there a "right" way of doing this - many blogs/websites have view next page/ previous page and they are all different...
how do you guys "see" website pages chronological order? - i like "next" to be click right > meaning thats an older page... but then that could also be seen/ thought of as a "previous" page... and when you get to page 3 or 4 for example its previous/next and it gets confusing....
QBN is like this, but a client of mine thinks it should be the other way round,,,
hope that makes sense - whats the standard? is there one?

left is previous and right is next. Just like a book.

^ yup ... i'd say "newer entries" (left) and "older entries" (right) is the least confusing.
setting the links on the left and right helps a lot in itself. what gets me confused is when there is something like "previous entries" and "next entries" (which i think are not so good labels anyway) on top of one another.
- older and newer buttons placed right and left would make most sensekelpie

Whatever - please ensure that pre/next buttons are consistenty in the same place. Having such a button move when it is joined or loses its opposite annoys me and makes me think the te author was being lazy.

On a blog where information is displayed chronologically, next > should be the older content.
on search results pages where most relevant content next is the next page.
in context they have thier own uses.
next, older, more, etc...- next placed on the right, like reading a book you turn the page.Stugoo
