New company Chrysler Group LLC gets the assets of Chrysler LLC
Fiat Group gets 20% of the new company, increases later, they can't get majority stake until taxpayers paid back.
Chrysler Group LLC produces Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Mopar vehicles.

I remember MB and Chrysler being called a Merger of Equals. My ASS!
Years later MB dumps 80% of Chrysler to Cerberus Capital (Who fucking happens to own 50% of GMAC Bank, and GM happens to own the other 50%), MB keeps 20% to provide design and engineering services, which dumped a year or two ago. Chrysler has been on the lifeline for a long time and Cerberus Capital has been the one trying to get the bail money for their greedy investors.
Chrysler by the way has not provided how much money they have and they don't have to, because they are privately held company. Cerberus is Capital is the one behind pushing for the bailout.

Don't know why everyone seems to think that in order for a car to be efficient it has to be one of these tiny shit boxes. Europeans might very well like these vehicles, but their countries are nothing like America. America does not have anywhere close to the public transportation that exists in Europe. Everything is so spread out, unless you live in a bigger city, you end up driving everywhere.
Anyone with a family can understand the necessity for a larger vehicle. I'm not a fan of Hummers or anything like that, just moderate sized vehicles that can fit more than 2 midgets.
