- In PS CS3. On a Mac when I right click on an image it brings me to the exact image layer in a list of possible choices. On this PC when I right click on an image wanting to quickly go to it's layer it brings me to a list of ALL the choices, it's a good thing I name everything pretty well but damn, why force me to look at a list that is NOT in alphabetical order to find a specific layer I want to quickly go to. Is there a setting that I don't have on?

1. explorere lets you display stuff in folders eihter as icons, or an alphabetical list, or 'details' with more info
2. that is the single biggest thing about Win that I like less than on a mac, seems like bad UI to me, though I'm sure there's a good reason (?)
3. um, dunno, laptop thing, hardware :(
4. not sure if I follow, you want the folder tree on teh left, or you want the preview/details stuff?
5. start menu is your dock, but you can create quick launch shortcuts which sit in the bar at the bottom much as they do in the doc on osx
6. start menu does everything, including the run thing with lets you just go 'start menu key > run > open program" all with the keyboard. in fact, the keyboard is your friend far more on windows than osx
7. some idiots fuck things up in windows, unfortunately, windows allows for this with warnings

4. In your file window, 'Tools' - 'Folder Options' - select 'Use Windows classic folders'.
Also, hit 'View' and choose 'Details'.
Once you're happy, you can set view as a default by;
Tools - Folder Options - View tab - 'Apply to All Folders'- hahahaha, I didn't notice you'd posted before I told him to ask Moth! in teh note above :Dkelpie

"BAWWWWW ITS NOT LIKE I AM USED TO"

Quite fiesta. I'm used to it being FIT FOR PURPOSE.
OSX, frankly isn't.

The only good thing about it is that my rails app now works like it should.
- ESKEMA0
well, that's why osx is better in my opinion, usually things just work like they should, on windows who the fuck knows what may be causing some malfunction...
but I agree with your despair, I have been displeased with some os x shit. hope they fix everything with the new os realease cause they're really starting to let people down realeasing buggy crap

OSX is not fucking perfet, but also human being isn't. Overall it makes much more sense for me than windows, specially Vista. The stuff you're pointing makes no sense at all its just stupid geek paranoia!! These threads are really stupid...why I even bother reading them...even worst, writing and answer!!!

* bump
This mac is convinced that I have two monitors, and for no apparent reason I loose windows to it which is pretty damn annoying.
How do I turn this off?
- flashbender0
system preferences > displays?
- shitehawke0
Try turning off your monitors one at a time to see if this is causing the error.
- lherb0
system preferences > displays > Detect Displays
Should work.
- ********0
nope.
