it depends on the person/situation, i NEEDED school to develop discipline. i had talent and ideas, just no clue what to do with it. high school art teacher was also the track coach. he took the art teacher gig so he could be around for his athletes all day, i wasn't his priority.

I'm a senior designer of sorts, but we all have the same job title here (designer). I do maybe 75% print and 25% web, no dev work though. Small but well-known midwestern design firm. Just glad to have a job at the moment.
