Domain Name Changes

I'm not sure if this has been posted already, but in the second quarter of 2009, the Internet will experience a massive change in the rules for domain names. In late October, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the organization responsible for domain name registration functions, approved a draft policy for unlimited TLDs, which will essentially create a near unlimited number of new domain name opportunities. This ability to create unlimited new domain names will present new challenges and opportunities for trademark owners.
Under the new policy, registrants will be permitted to apply to use an almost unlimited number of TLDs. For example, QBN could be able to register www.qbn.threads or or any other combination imaginable. Similarly, QBN, for example, will be able to create new e-mail addresses, such as , etc. While supporters of unlimited TLDs claim this will create powerful new branding opportunities, there may be a significant downside for trademark owners, such as more cybersquatters.
The fee of applying for a new TLD is yet to be determined, but ICANN estimates it will range from $185,000 to $500,000, plus annual fees and technical costs (some articles are citing a $1 million expense). While this expense is clearly a likely deterrent for cybersquatters, opponents to these new rules have argued that the fee will not displace cybersquatters because they may be able to gather more than enough revenue to cover their costs via pay-per-click advertisements. Therefore, the creation of new TLDs potentially may stimulate new acts of cybersquatting.

There's a .com I kinda don't mind to own, according to
"This domain will drop on 2020-06-XX. If you would like to acquire it, please visit our partner service:"
however according to whois, it expires on "2021-04-XX"
Huh? Domain will drop in 2020, but expires in 2021?
How legit is dropcatch? They ask for $59 to back order it, and if no one else does so you get it for $59
But... doesn't this just help them sell domains no one is showing much interest in, or actually help them figure out who is interested and then place secondary bids on it to get the customers to pay more?
- After a domain expires there is a grace period that allows the previous owner to acquire it back.zaq

I wanna punch add on domains in the friggin face right now...
"Every Namecheap hosting plan (except EasyWP) can host more than one domain name at a time;
Once the nameservers are changed, all the custom DNS records for your domain name will be overwritten to our hosting ones.""The domain should not be present in the same hosting account as an addon or as a main domain name."
THA FUCK DOES THAT MEAN? GRRRRRR
why is this so hard??!!! :(
