threads look messy,
dont look like threads.. - they look lik flat ribbonscolours are pretty lifeless,
font choice doesnt seem appropriate.. at least in the way you've applied it.

In an attempt to give you some direction, I would go with the top construct you have, but try to integrate the 'weaves' with your type like someone has suggested beforehand. I would also change the typeface but this is 'set' as you have said?
don't take people's comments as negative, they're giving you an honest, educated(?), opinion...
may the force be with you.

the font seems awkward

That y descender is pretty bad. Not very constructive, but I'm also in a mood.

Agree with brains and non, this is simply not good. At the risk of sounding harsh, I would start over. The concept is lazy and the typography is poor. The kerning in particular is all wrong.

different font, and that looks more like basket weaving than a thread. Thread is super thin.

...May the skillZ be with you...

Alright, alot to go on. Thanks everyone for ur input.

Sorry, roberthurston, I don’t think anyone is trying to be critical here, I think there is a lot of potential if you can get the “stakeholders” to give you a chance to unlock it. I trust you have the skillZ.
- I'm being critical.
But hopefully constructively.
This has the potentialz.pylon
- I'm being critical.

Characters are too close together. You are having problems mostly with the e, a and s due their roundness.
The threads are what mostly need work. You could almost create a work of art if you could make them slightly more lively and realistic without making them the exact same width from one edge to the other.

this feels like it's for maxi pads or something.
and i'm usually nice on logo critiques.

the typeface and color palette do not seem to be hitting the mark
- Corvo20
can't quite understand why you ask for opinion with so much limitations.
- pylon0
^^^ Agreed.
Maybe by making the threads the same line-weight as your font? The 't' could easily be incorporated into one of the threads if you wanted.
- MrOneHundred0
You could try and do something with the threads, like incorporate the E and T initials into the weave, and maybe get some dimensionality happening.
- roberthuston0
yup. I was trying to get opinion on which type orientation was better.
- Ah.
Disregard previous comment. Unless you're looking to start over.pylon
- Ah.

- Oh crap, 100 is here. That means that I'm here too late and should go home...pylon

So when you say “The logo is set. The type face is as well.” do you mean you can only tweak what is already in place?
