I agree with blaw on this one. These books are craptacular works of literature. If you liked either the books or the movie then I truly feel sorry for you, because you obviously don't know better.

It was bad because my wife and i watched it after everyone told us how GREAT! it was. Expecting to be wowed or even slightly entertained, which I wasn't. At all. On any level. Just slightly creeped out by the creepy dude who never got any light and liked to whip himself for whatever strange masochistic reason he had. And the Amelie is possibly a descendant of Christ, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda... now while she's cute and would most definitely get "the business", they had NO chemistry. And the movie was LAME.
