i guess this trend will require more hdd storage space and more time for video post production. i thought i spend enough time editing photos. i guess i need a mac pro quad machine before i join this trend.

the quality of video is pretty amazing. i think the shallow DOF isolates the subjects with smooth bokeh and gives a really nice feel.
when d90 came out with the video mode, i didn't care much about the video. but now seeing this, i changed my mind about the video mode. I still like Nikon's body and ergonomics so I am just gonna wait to see what happens.

Camera is good, but so were the lenses used.

this is a good quality movie because of $50K+ worth of lenses + lighting equipment + years of professional experience.

... it's time to start RUNNING!
That was a nice video and a great showcase of an outstanding camera. The lenses are very high quality too so a lot of the DoF shots have that evtra oomph! I'd also presume that there was professional lighting too so that each scene was perfect.
damn impressive still though - the detail in some of those scenes are unbelieveable!

The narrow depth of field can be achieved with something as cheap as the nifty fifty and gives a wonderful film like feel. Its great to be able to extend the use of glass you probably already have in this way be it with a d90 or a 5dmkii.
I know I will be enjoying using this new system over making home vids with a handycam. Seems like there is much more room to be creative and a little more art house.
