has he praised work you've done so far? are you delivering what is requested of you without a ton of hand-holding and changes? if so, leave.
if you think you're not really delivering what he wants and you have to redo work for whatever reason (not a change in direction) then maybe you do need a bit more experience.
that being said, a cut in pay is a demotion and unless you've done something wrong or have had to be warned, you shouldn't put up with what he's doing to you...ergo find another job.

Leave as soon as another job comes up.

Agreed, look for something else, work your notice and get the fuck out of there. Don't do anything to piss them off while you're still there, that'll just work against you.
Once you've left, send them an anonymous parcel full of dogshit.

he wants you to quit. the prudent thing would be to get another job and then quit.

Can u show us some of the work you did?

tell him you weren't hired to be his carbon copy. sounds like he's under a lot of stress with a new company and is feeling the economic pinch. either way, since you are a junior, i'd suggest you work at a well established studio that isn't struggling financially and managerially so you can learn how things are supposed to go.
actually i'd suggest that even if you weren't a junior.

decrease in pay is possibly the worse thing that can happen to a designer. as many have already stated, your boss doesn't trust you (for whatever reason)... just for you to know, he will never change.
i would set up a web site (which you should already have) and put up some work (freelance/company work) and start looking for jobs. once you land a new job, be sure to let your employer know (in a nice way), that you have no future in his company and that you have to move on.
just make sure your new job gives you creative freedom :)

yeah dude, i'd keep working there like everything is cool and start looking for a new job asap. never burn bridges, even if the guy is a total dick.

does that mean you have to work less hours?

He is taken the piss out of you. Find a new job ASAP

Any place that does this to you is not worth working for. Stick it out for a few more months and get some good experience and some good portfolio examples and then get the fuck out!

like the rest of the gang said, keep working while looking for a new one. its the best bet.

There are two sides to every story. I love how everyone defends mr_monki without knowing anything about his work ethic, skills or what is really going on.
- when even shittay bosses give someone the boot, there is more than likely more to the story...robotron3k
- There's always more to the story. I've never heard anyone who's been fired say that they deserved it.2cents

show us your portfolio?, mr_monki.
