So my Hard Drive died on my over the weekend and I had to buy a new drive, and then install OS X 10.5.3. No problem, but know I cannot get Mail to work, get this for a head fuck, Mail will send an email, but will not get mail.
I have deleted the .Pref, and have looked at every single setting in mail, I have tried the Connection Doctor in mail which just tell me I cannot receive fucking mail, which I know already arrrrrrrr.
Anyone here got any tip as to why this is happening, Any server setting I might be missing. Why did I install 10.5, why do I do this to myself.
I am using Blueyonder Email service.

Make sure your incoming mail server settings are set up correctly in the Accounts pane of Mail's preferences

Have you asked Blueyonder support? (to check their POP server settings, which ports, if they have connection logs?)
Have you tried another email client to test that your Blueyonder account can receive email to start with? (Add it as an external account in Hotmail or Yahoo Mail, or Thunderbird..)

I have check my webmail service just to make sure it working correctly, and it is, I can send mail to my google account from Apple Mail, but it will just not receive mail. I have double checked my incoming and outgoing mail setting from which are correct.

Check the Apple support forums here: http://discussions.apple.com/for…

When you setup a new account in Mail, it runs a connection test on both incoming and outgoing servers before you leave the setup dialog. Did it fail at that time (in the tests?) or only later?
Delete account and setup again to run the test?

I managed to get it working, Virgin Media have the wrong pop information on there website for setting up Mac Mail. I should have been useing pop3, and not pop which Virgin Media advise to use.

If anyone here is using Virgin media which was once Blueyonder, then for the love of god do not use the information on Virgin Media website.
http://www.virginmedia.com/help/…
1: Your pop Account should be, pop3.blueyonder.co.uk, and NOT pop.blueyonder.co.uk
2: If you have an email address which starts with "your , then do not use that name as you Login Name. Use the original Login in name that come with you Original password.
3: Outgoing Mail Server smtp.blueyonder.co.uk, is about the only correct bit of information on the fucking website.
