hold down the mouse on the app icon in the dock and relaunch finder... or just click the apple icon in the top left and force quit, er, relaunch finder from there...

it's called the "hiding" glitch. it happens from time to time.
Just force quit and restart it. It autosaves your work every once in a while, so you probably didn't lose any data.
To fix it (or so I've heard), when you start it, quit it immediately and start it again. That clears it up for a good while. They have to release a patch for it, though.

You probably tried to hide InDesign. It's a known bug with Leopard.

whoops. didn't see your above note roundabout. sorry ... that sucks balls.

Are using Spaces?
I don't have an answer for you, but I've had a similar problem.

i dont use quark - havent done so for years and years.
its just web design i do, and if i have to do print design stuff il just do it in illustrator.but this is the first time in years ive had to make a multi-page document so doin it in ID, been arsing with it for a wee while and it seems like a piece of piss. practically the same as illustrator etc.

I going back to 10.4 over the weekend, 10.5 is just a joke at the movement. And expose is a waste of time as well as spaces. And do not even get me started about network printing, bloody nightmare.
Lucky for me my work was saved, but I have had my fill of 10.5.
I am now going to kick the shit out of Candy, it was her who persuaded me to install 10.5

Hoochie ma ma.....
Probably good idea to copy the desktop/dock cache file from the library onto another partition (along with any other backups!)
Do it to it! Good day and good luck!
