I'm going to make a prediction here... I think they are going to go tits up... I'll explain...
We recently (last Saturday) went to a branch at lakeside, where we wanted to buy a parasol, there was one in the window... and we asked if there were any others... the woman was useless that tried to help us... but as she didn't know what the colour was to look up... anyway when she finally does it, she says there are two in stock (so basically one out the back) But after taking 4 people out there to try and find it they couldn't, as they didn't have a torch...
We left without the parasol, and they lost a purchase... Anyway, I was in town on Monday and thought I'd stop into their Regents Street 'flagship' store... and they actually had one... but when it came out it was not in two parts like most parasols but in a 9 foot long box...
I said it would be difficult to take that on the tube... but the bloke said he reckoned it would be alright... yeah thanks!
So I asked if I could get it delivered... No... apparently Habitat have stopped home delivery...
So, to get this straight,
1) if you drive to an out of town store which you pretty much have to as public transport to these places is ridiculous, they have the stock, but can't sell it to you.
2) If you go into the centre of London, they have it, but who drives into the centre of town,
and even then a lot of their stuff won't fit in the normal sized car.3) You can't get it delivered, so you'd need to hire a van to buy anything larger that a few plates... and they specialise in
4) They really don't have that many stores... and recently the one in Kensington, Chelmsford and Bluewater have all closed...
Am I missing something, or is that completely moronic? and are they going out of business?

thats wicked. how can they not have a option to deliver item or items for none or a small fee.
- i'd think the company can make whatever shit decisions they want********

They're overpriced IKEA anyway. Sometimes I am still shocked with how bad their flagship store display is, ie. in Barcelona (Pl. Catalunya) or Dublin. Mess. Just stuff thrown around.
- Agree, prices and quality don't match, at least IKEA does that pretty good********

maybe they just disliked the cut of your jib and were just pretending not to deliver :P
dont think habitat will be going tits up anytime soon likes. the people that spend the real money there (and not just some plates or a parasol) will continue to shop there as they will see it as being superior to ikea and a place theyd rather spend their money on what they think is more quality but maybe just priced that way to give the impression lol.

They just went out of business in Ireland:
http://www.habitat.ieIt might be hard to believe for some, IKEA is about to open their first store ever in Ireland. They just couldn't get the permit for such a large store before. I bet this is one of the reasons Habitat gave up.
IKEA will turn the market upside down here.
